The beach at Châtelaillon-Plage, an elegant seaside resort just outside La Rochelle, is an ideal place to swim, relax and enjoy the great outdoors. Its fine sand invites both relaxation and outdoor activities. You can enjoy beach volleyball, zumba or the many water sports offered by the nautical center.
Throughout the year, the beach also plays host to emblematic events such as the Festival International du Cerf-Volant et du Vent (FICVV) (International Kite and Wind Festival) and La Baignade des Banquisards (Banquisards' Swim), which bring residents and visitors together in a festive, friendly atmosphere.
In fine weather, the seaside straw huts offer the chance to dine on local specialties overlooking the ocean. And when the sun goes down, the coastline is a magnificent sight, summer and winter alike.
From July 3 to August 30 inclusive, swimming is supervised 7 days a week by two lifeguard posts open from 11am to 7pm, so you can enjoy the beach in complete peace of mind.
