Love and Cigarettes – Theatre

LOVE AND CIGARETTES A play by Nadège Méziat Directed by: Christian Vadim Starring Christian Vadim, Paul Belmondo, Edouard Montoute, Nadège Méziat, Isabelle Tanakil and Aude Lener On Christmas Eve, everyone gathers round Bernadette, a colourful mother who swears by her sons, and particularly by her ‘youngest’ son… The evening begins, as it always does when they meet, with the bickering of the three brothers who, despite their age, are still vying for the matriarch’s favour. But an unexpected announcement is about to turn the dinner upside down and provoke the anger of one of them, who then decides to go out to buy cigarettes to calm down. Hours pass, but he doesn’t come home. Five years later, as the family raise a toast in his memory, he returns, thinking he’d only been away for five minutes… Smoking is harmful to your health – and so is family! This cheerful family comedy takes us on a rollercoaster of unexpected twists and turns, where tension and laughter intertwine in an explosion of absurd situations!
