A little history: The casino was inaugurated on July 16, 1893, when Châtelaillon became a sought-after seaside resort. Alcide d'Orbigny, mayor of La Rochelle and owner of the Château d'Orbigny (Villa Stella) in the commune, was president of the Société Civile pour la Construction du Casino de Châtelaillon.
After damage caused by the Second World War, the entrance was rebuilt, and a cinema and open-air auditorium were installed. Destroyed in the second half of the 20th century, it was rebuilt identically.
