John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, to name but a few of the most famous, these names resonate like little Proust madeleines, evoking for each and every one of us moments of emotion in front of the cinema screen.
But film music is more than just a soundtrack: its purpose is to enrich the emotional aspect of the film and each of its scenes. They play a genuine narrative role, sometimes descriptive, sometimes disruptive.
Film music has an intrinsic value; it sometimes has an autonomous life outside the cinema, in concerts, music schools, in the history of music, and even in our daily lives. For this evening, the OHCP is putting on its cinema show, and taking you back to the world of music from your favorite films.
