In her work, material artist Armelle Mendes explores the themes of imprint and memory. She uses materials and printing techniques to capture traces and marks of the past in the present, and to question possible transformations, oscillating between fluidity and permanence.
For "Dialogues", Armelle attempts to capture the nuances of coastal life, offering a sensitive, contemplative approach.
Ink, cyanotype, paper, writing... each work bears witness to a silent conversation with water, wind, light and time. Between inscriptions and erasures, fragments of a fragile, shifting language...
Escaped messages, these works invite a sensitive and intuitive reading, where each can project his or her own resonances. "Dialogues" is an invitation to listen to what is whispered between the lines, between the waves, between the silences.
